I just visited a toy store in search of some presents for my godchildren πŸ˜€ as well as my siblings. It was interesting to go around this (admittedly) large store and browse…realizing that I used to receive just such gifts once upon a time! πŸ™‚

Anyway…I took some pics for you to say “CUUUUTE” over(like I did)

Life is a handful of short stories, pretending to be a novel.

–Anonymous

This makes so much sense to me. Often I get caught up in what I think is the “novel” of my life and others lives–trying to figure out who the “main characters” are, where my “setting” will beΒ  and what it will be like when the next scene opens. This quote, however, puts it into a simple thought. Life is MANY stories put together, thus impossible to second guess. You can’t “skip through” to the end, cause you’re just on ONE story of many. You just have to have faith and live each one out!

I’m going to take THIS story, this part of my life that’s trying so hard to be a complete novel, and appreciate it for being, yes, just a short story. I don’t know the length yet and I don’t know if it will have a wonderful sequel or not, but I know it’s worth giving it a try.

And for all of you who are a part of my story collection, thank you. You are a part of who I am and I know you will also be a part of who I aspire to be in the next “chapter”.

today…

Today a carpet covered the hills,

It filled my mind and heart,

Colors sprayed in affectionate feeling,

By One who knows all art,

Today a painting dyed the sky,

It gave me joy to see,

For surely He who can so wield light,

Will give path’s light to me.

Today a picture took my thoughts,

It sent them in prayer on high,

To Him who loves and keeps the loves,

Who paints hills and colors sky.
